The Greener Shingles Rejuvenation products were inspired by a patented asphalt rejuvenator for roads and parking lots. The highly successful rejuvenator was reformulated for use on asphalt shingles as a way to extend the useful life of existing roofs.
PRI Labs in Florida, one of the biggest Shingle and Asphalt testing labs in the world, independently tested the Greener Shingles Rejuvenator. These tests conclusively prove that the Greener Shingles Rejuvenator restores flexibility, improves granular adhesion by 86% and unexpectedly showed a 40% better fire retardancy. The Greener Shingles Rejuvenator is also a USDA CERTIFIED 90% BIOBASED PRODUCT.
As asphalt shingles age they begin to oxidize and the oils inside them dry up. As the shingles oxidize and dry and begin to loose the ability to hold the granular in place, the granular coating starts washing into the gutters (those little rocks, in your gutters). The granular coating acts a a protective layer keeping the harsh UV light out. As the shingles begin to shed this protective layer, they begin to crack, curl and ultimately fail.
Preventative maintenance of your roof is just as important as preventative maintenance of any other surface around your home. Before Greener Shingles Rejuvenator options for preventative roof maintenance were very limited. Now we have a cost effective and environmentally friendly way to maintain existing roofs to extend their useful life 5, 10 and even 15+ years.
Our Rejuvenator has a dramatic effect on shingle life expectancy. When applied; our rejuvenator stops oxidation through the permutation of our bio-oils into and often through the shingle. This process replaces the mineral oils that are lost through oxidation caused by the sun, weather and heat over time. Rejuvenating helps to keep the granular layer in place making the shingles last longer and keeping them on your roof where they belong.
